Amazon's upcoming live-action series, 'God of War', is adding some intriguing new characters to its cast. The series, which is set in the world of Norse mythology, has already built an impressive ensemble with its previous castings. Now, it's adding four new faces to the mix, including several of Thor's children and Odin's 'fanatical' Valkyrie commander. But here's where it gets controversial...
The four new additions to the cast are Louis Cunningham as Modi, Ben Chapple as Magni, Evelyn Miller as Gna, and Island Austin as Thrud. Modi and Magni are Thor's sons, while Gna is Odin's Valkyrie commander, and Thrud is Thor's daughter. According to Variety, Cunningham and Austin will be series regulars, while Chapple and Miller will have recurring roles.
Modi, the middle child, is described as having a gentle disposition and an obsessive, almost insatiably curious mind. He loves puzzles and complex problems, to the point where he often gets lost in them and forgets everything else around him. Magni, on the other hand, is the eldest son, handsome and adventurous, an excellent hunter and natural ladies' man. However, the life of an immortal playboy has begun to feel hollow, and Magni is yearning for a greater purpose.
Gna, Odin's Valkyrie commander, is a fierce warrior devoted to her duty with a loyalty to Odin that borders on fanatical. She is highly disciplined and uncompromising, dedicated to serving the realm, occasionally at the expense of her own wellbeing. Finally, Thrud, the youngest child, is precocious, inquisitive, curious, and fearless, with a natural yearning for knowledge. She's gentle and kind, and often acts as a peace-maker with the rest of her troubled family.
The series follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. But this is the part most people miss... The show's official logline also hints at a deeper exploration of the characters' relationships and the challenges they face along the way.
With the addition of these new characters, 'God of War' is set to become an even more captivating series. But will these new cast members live up to the high expectations set by the previous cast?
