Neil Young Cancels European Tour: A Break from the Road (2026)

"I've chosen to take a step back." This is the bold statement from legendary musician Neil Young, who has announced the cancellation of his upcoming European tour. At 80 years old, the iconic singer-songwriter was set to kick off his tour on June 27 at the Eden Project in Cornwall, with additional performances lined up in major cities across the UK, including Manchester, Chelmsford, Glasgow, Blenheim Palace, and Cardiff. Below are the full details of the canceled dates.

Young expressed his feelings candidly, stating, "I have made the decision to take a break and will not be touring Europe this time around. I want to extend my gratitude to everyone who purchased tickets. I apologize for any disappointment, but this truly is not the right moment for me. Playing live and connecting with my audience and the Chrome Hearts is something I cherish deeply."

This announcement comes just hours after Twisted Sister revealed that they too have scrapped their planned 50th-anniversary shows. This cancellation follows Dee Snider’s departure from the band due to health issues. Snider has faced significant challenges, including degenerative arthritis and heart conditions. He stated, "I can’t imagine any other way to rock. The thought of slowing down is simply not acceptable to me. I would prefer to step away than to become a mere shadow of my former self."

Originally, Twisted Sister had excitedly confirmed their plans for anniversary shows last September—celebrating a decade since their final tour performance in Monterrey, Mexico. The tour was scheduled to commence in São Paulo, Brazil, this April, with festival appearances across Europe confirmed, showcasing events such as Copenhell in Copenhagen, Tons of Rock in Oslo, Barcelona Rock Fest, and Steelhouse in Wales.

As for the future of Twisted Sister, guitarists Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda have mentioned that the direction of the band will be decided in the coming weeks.
